MULTI-STRAIN
LACTOBACILLUS CONCENTRATE
A LIVE ACTIVE, NON-DAIRY SOURCE OF LACTOBACILLI.
(ACIDOPHILUS, BIFIDUS AND OTHER FRIENDLY BACTERIA)
Cultured on organic, Australian grown grains, green barley and mung beans.

Lactobacillus is a natural source of B Vitamins and will also encourage the production of
B Vitamins in the intestinal tract.

Lactobacillus: Is the family of friendly bacteria which are considered to play a role in,

  1. The formation of well balanced indigenous microflora

  2. Improving the colonisation of the intestinal, respiratory and urogenital tracts.

  3. Lowering serum cholesterol.

  4. Reducing the levels of intestinal tumors.

  5. Non-specific interactions with the immune system.

  6. Metabolising lactose and reducing lactose intolerance.

  7. Improving the absorption of calcium from foods.

  8. Improving the synthesis of vitamins and the predigestion of proteins.

  9. Suppressing the growth of candida yeast.

  10. Replacing good bacteria after antibiotic therapy.

The following are the members of the family of Lactobacilli found in MICROFOOD:
Acidophilus, Bifidus, Bulgaricus, Lactis, Helveticas, Casei, Fermenti, Leichmanni,
Brevis and Delbraukii.
These bacteria, occurring as a family, produce sub-strains which are also highly beneficial.

MICROFOOD is a fermented food containing living non-dairy lactic acid produced friendly bacteria. This valuable kind of food, which has been used by man since ancient times, is now virtually lacking from modern diets. MICROFOOD is a convenient and modern way to avail ourselves of these friendly bacteria.

Microfood is so active, it can be fermented to increase the activity even further. A culture of two (2) teaspoonsful of Microfood mixed with four (4) teaspoonsful of fructose or glucose (glucose is the most active food for Microfood, but fructose is recommended for people with Diabetes) in a thermos flask of warm water and shaken regularly, will produce a slightly acidic (sugar free) drink which is abundant with friendly bacteria in 48 to 72 hours. (This drink can be used for yeast free bread making.) Similarly, chewing a teaspoonful of Microfood before taking green barley will produce a highly active culture in the intestine as the green barley provides an excellent food source for the Lactobacillus. Recent research has found that fruit sugars can increase the absorption of nutrients by as much as 42% and it would follow that the nutrients associated with the Lactobacillus complex would be well received by the body.

The gastro-intestinal specialist's are really concerned these days because antibiotics destroy the friendly bacteria in the bowel. This friendly bacteria is called acidophilus (Lactobacillus) bacteria. If you are or have been taking drugs, feed the acidophilus back into the body.
Above all, feed them, (the friendly bacteria) with greens (e.g. green barley and alfalfa).
(Taken from "The Healing Power of Chlorophyll" by Bernard Jensen D.C.)

MICROFOOD may be consumed on its own, or sprinkled onto cereal or other food (e.g. toast), used as a raising agent for bread, as a yoghurt culture, mixed in water or fermented in warm water as a drink.
